WRIT OF ELECTION (SIXTEENTH DISTRICT - KENTUCKY SENATE)
Writ of Election - Sixteenth - Senatorial District


WHEREAS, the Honorable David L. Williams resigned from the General Assembly, by letter effective November 2, 2012, and, as a result, a vacancy now exists in the Kentucky Senate, Sixteenth Senatorial District; and

WHEREAS, KRS 118.730 requires the Governor to issue a writ of election to fill a vacancy occurring in the Kentucky Senate when the General Assembly is not in session:

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Steven L. Beshear, Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, pursuant to the authority vested in me by KRS 118.730, do hereby issue a writ of election to fill the vacancy in the Sixteenth Senatorial District, to be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2012, and hereby direct that this writ be forwarded to the Sheriffs of Clinton, Cumberland, McCreary, Monroe, Wayne and Whitley Counties as required by KRS 118.730 and 118.740.
